Literary Child is an innovative book club with an accompanying magazine/activity guide. Join us as we read timeless children's classics and well-loved contemporary literature.

Literary Child is custom designed to accompany each book selection, filled with family activities, word puzzles, games, crafts, recipes and more ideas for families to enjoy together. Get your kids excited about literature with our interactive ideas!

The books chosen will be for ages ranging from upper elementary school to high school. But we believe they apply to all ages. If your child is too young to read the selection on his own, we highly recommend reading the book aloud. Our oldest is five years old, and thoroughly enjoyed listening to my reading aloud Journey to the Centre of the Earth, which is typically given to high school students. Even our three year old would come to me with the book asking me to read from it! If you think your child is too young to grasp the concepts of an "older" book, you may consider rethinking that belief. Children soak in much more than we tend to think they do. And while they may not understand every single word of the book, they are indeed ingesting bits of it, and learning the language, tone and elements of reading. Listening to literature will only enhance their lives, vocabulary and love of reading.

We now offer both pay-in-advance and pay-as-you-go subscriptions!

Pay-in-advance subscriptions: Pay once for a full year subscription (12 issues, one per month)

Pay-as-you-go subscriptions: Every month an automatic payment will be deducted for the price of the next issue. We hope this will make it easier for families to afford a subscription. (You will need an active Paypal account to sign up for a subscription.)

This is the way it works: Whatever day you sign up will become your billing date. Every month on that date, $11.00 will be automatically deducted (from either a Visa, MasterCard, checking account, or Paypal balance). Your subscription will begin with following month's issue of Literary Child. For example...If you sign up in March, the first issue you will receive will be April's edition (sent out the first week of April). If you signed up on March 6th, then you will receive your first issue during the first week of April...then on April 6th, you will be charged for May's issue which will be delivered the first week of May. Every month thereafter, for the duration of your subscription, you will be charged on the 6th for the following month's issue.

If you want this month's issue, it will have to be purchased on its own. Your subscription will not begin with this month's issue.

Please be aware that if a payment is rejected for insufficient funds, your subscription will be canceled automatically.
